anyone else have to do this? I'm hoping that it will be an effective "time out" for it.

There are two very small sexy shrimp in the tank (each about 1cm long) and one is no bother to anyone but this one is constantly hanging out on my leather coral. This pisses my leather coral off to no end. The tenticles will retract and stay retracted so long as the shrimp is on it, and then for a good half hour to an hour afterwards. I've kept chasing the shrimp away from the leather but I sucked it up in the turkey baster this morning an deposited it in the sump.

Not sure if anyone else has had problems with these shrimp.

hello again, the start of this thread may sound like a repeat of my last post

i have a 37 gallon reef aquiarium, established for about a couple years now. about 4 months ago i decided to add some more liverock and i definitely got some hitchhikers with it, including bristleworms

but the funny thing is, i have heard a clicking sound in my tank ever since i added the rock. i'm sure it's either a mantis or a pistol shrimp, but i have NEVER SEEN IT, i just hear it about every day.

i'm really not too concerned, with the exception of my curiousity. i already own a peacock mantis in a seperate tank, but whatever is in my reef tank it has to be really small, for i have been hunting for it for months and have not even caught a glimpse of it!

my question here would be this: is there any other type of species that can make a clicking sound that you can hear from the outside of the tank? i'm not too concerned for no damage has been done, but if it's a mantis then he's gonna have to eventually leave lol

hello everyone

i have had an established reef aquarium for a couple years. about 4 months ago i added some new live rock to it. upon adding the live rock, i noticed some bristleworms came with it. not really a big deal considering i am aware they are beneficial in a lot of ways, but in particular i have one that is HUGE, a little over an 8th inch thick and about 7 inches long (probably at least a foot long if stretched out!!)

i have been fine with it in there for awhile, but it always seems like it is slightly bigger every time i see it! i'm sure the worms have multiplied too because i a see a lot of smaller ones lately

i tried buildng a trap and put a piece of tilapia in it for bait, came and checked it and a bunch of snails got trapped in the trap but no worms

i am wondering, what is my best bet for catching this thing? it seems like its very smart because when i try to even LOOK at it it squirms away into hiding...any thoughts? i had a little piece of heteroxenia completely disappear the other day and i can't think of any other culprit

Today I noticed my one bulb on my oceanic 14 gallon biocube was out. I immediatly called the company and went through a process to get a new one shipped to me. The problem is with the transformer which means that until a new one ships to my house (he said it may take till Thanksgiving!) im going to be without one light. The guy told me since I have to choose which one to run until then the 10000k Daylight would be better for my coral over the Actnic. My question is will my coral be ok for this long with only the 10000k Daylight running? Its a 14 gallon tank and I believe that is a 24 watt bulb. I have polyps, ricordea, leather and frogspawn. Will these be ok for that long?? And I also have 2 clowns, but im assuming they will be fine

And by the time the water gets to the last chamber (the outlet pump) it has mirco bubbles and its pumping them into the display tank. Its pumping at around 2000LPH.

Anyone have any idea how to remove mirco bubbles?
For example, if I buy live adult brine shrimp, it doesn't make sense to buy just a few. Can I dump a whole bag full of a few hundred in the DT and let the predators sort them out whenever?
