New Filter - too much flow?

I just set up my new Eheim 2213 on my 20g tank. I set it up according to he instructions. I also emptied a bucket of aquarium water and used that to rinse off the filter, and get it primed and checked and ran it for 5 minutes or so in the bucket. I think I did everything right. Then I moved it to the Aquarium. I've left the HOB AT 5-15 to help with seeding. My nitrites were at 0.3ish before the 50% change, so I assume they are at 0.1ish now (haven't checked yet - was going to tonight).

Questions:
I have 2 Ryukin and a small goldfish (each about 1.5"). Since I set the filter up, they've been swimming around really fast. One Ryukin is hanging out at the surface periodically, and the other is constantly going up and down in the bubbles. Is this normal? Is the flow too high (it seems like there's a lot of flow and TONS of bubbles)? Would it be OK (enough O2) to aim the water at the glass to reduce the flow? Will the flow be too much for the other fish I plan to put in this aquarium (neons, kuhli loaches, gourami)? Is there anything I should watch out for other than a mini cycle?

Got an adopted algae eater a few days ago. 6" long. Fine far a few days but then my big foil turned ud dead one morning. No signs of fighting. Scales all perfect, fins all fine, eyes fine, nothing. Just a bloated belly and dead. Everybody else seemed fine. A couple more days have gone by and now another foil is dead. Same thing. Bloated belly and no other signs. I'm thinking it's either my new pleco killing them somehow or I've got some sort of disease. What do you think?
The new guy is a young medium fiddler, having been more accustomed to saltwater rather than this brackish environment. After painstakingly acclimating him, his first night seemed fine. Today, though, his large claw disconnected. I'm worried he's not adjusting well and may not make it.
I've read all I can, but have only been at this for five weeks. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1 bumble bee catfish
1 mossy barb
3 albino corys
1 electric yellow cichlid
1 bristle nose catfish

(i'm a new member of this site!!)

A few months ago i did a water change (probably about 20-30%), at that time i had 2 silver sharks and eveything above except the cory and the bristle nose. upon completion of my cleaning regime i noticed that one of the sharks wasnt coping at all with the slight change, about 10 minutes later it died - i actually watched it (very sad really but interesting). the next morning the other shark was dead.
This happed to me last time i had sharks (3 of them), about 9 months prior to this, they all died within 24hrs of the change. I try to do regular water changes at lease every 2 weeks if not every week.

i did a pretty thorougher clean of my tank today with a 30% water change - a bought another cichlid early this week, it seemed healthy until the clean, i just came up to find it on the bottom dead!!!!

None of the other fish have been affected!!!!!!

why is this happening???

Any helpers??

I acclimated them slowly and they were fine overnight and gorged on a meal of black worms. They ate a few times and then stopped eating and just spend their time hovering in one corner. Their appearance is okay(no spots or anything) but they seem to be "breathing " faster than they should. The water parameters are okay -ph7.4 which might be a little high for them. I tried increasing the circulation and turning off two lights. They are in a community tank because we brought them from a home breeder who raised them and his tanks seemed fine. I hate to loose them- does anyone have any suggestions? I am going to do a small water change today. All the other fish are fine. They are in a 28 gallon tank-planted. We are using a fluval cannister filter.

Tank size is 2.5 gallon, i have a small filter and heater in there. I started looking around, to see what was wrong with him, the only thing i could possibly thing of was swim bladder. I got home from work today, to find him dead in my tank. Any ideas as to what killed him? He was not as bright as my other zebra danios in my main tank. When i brought him home i figured something was up because he wasn't acting "normal" as my other danios did.

I have a 20 gallon tank with 5 mollies. 1 molly is an adult and 4 babies. I had 6 mollies and one of the babies died last night. The adult molly has been ill for at least two weeks. At first I thought it was swim bladder. I fed her peeled peas. She began to improve and then she took a turn for the worse. She lays on the bottom of the tank, sometimes eats, and once in awhile she will swim. Now, one of the other babies is showing the same symptoms. I have no idea what to do. Help!

Note: About 2 months ago I added painted aquarium safe rocks. I feel it may have something to do with the problem. They have since been removed from the tank. If it is toxic poisoning, what can i do to save the fish?

Please do not reply with "too many mollies in tank." They're still babies and i'm finding homes for them. I've given away about many so far. The tank is not, and has not, been overcrowded. I have 10 gallon tanks, fully cycled, for the fry.

no signs of ich
no signs of any other illness

My habits:

I use prime for my water changes.
I do 20-25% changes every week including gravel vacuum
Filter - Bio wheel 200 (200 gph)
I add 2 tablespoons of API freshwater salt with each water change. Some people say not too, use marine salt. I don't think this would contribute to my fish dying. But, who knows.

Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 10
PH 7.5
KH - 4
GH - 8
Temp 80

I have a 14gal Biocube. With a modified filter, Floss, charcol bag, bioballs.

I have 1 fish, it is a mini Albino Bristlenose Pleco. Its fins seem to twitch now and it doesnt really sucktion onto the side of the tank as much as it used to. It will semi attach but not fully. Its fins are back which means its stressed right?

So my tank exploded with nitrites. It was up to 40 on the test chart. I did water changes, and it didnt bring it down at all so I put him in my quarintine tank and emptyed out the entire tank making sure to refill it 3 times with hot water trying to flush out anything in the tank that was causing the build up. I took out all ornaments and wood. Refilled the tank and let it run for a week with the water treated. I used Amquel Plus, Aquarium salt, nutrafin cycle and tap water conditioner. Followed the directions for all dosages pertaning to my tank and followed the instructions for the cycle treatment daily. The tank now tests at .5 Nitrite and smells like a rainforest.. quite earthy smelling. Not sure how else to describe it. I did a 2 inch water change and added 5ml cycle.

I havent put anything back in the tank ornament wise. my pleco eats algae wafers by hikari. but I break them in half and he really only eats half of one.

Why does my tank smell like rainforest/earth, how come it blew up? My pleco almost died from a regular water change that I did. The water was testing fine and then suddenly when I did a water change it stopped breathing and nearly died. I had my tap water tested and it came out fine! - Everytime I change the water it seems to explode with Nitrites.

I need help this has NEVER happend before in my time of having fish tanks..

The other female died not long after we had her dont know how she just disapeared under a ornament we had. The female thats sick went on to have about four batches of babies since we had her. Tested water its fine. Its a thirty gallon with other community fish in it no one else is sick. The symptoms she has are heavy breathing, not eating, open mouth, white slime on her body, fins tearing away, and now looks like red areas on both sides of her body. Has been sick about a week.Put Coppersafe from mardel in tank a couple days ago, and she just seems to be getting worse, any ideas on what it is and what else to do.

My betta has become very horrible to my corydoras lately and is always harrassing them. Today i found a big chunk of dorsal fin missing and definatly think it was mr betta!. I want to move all my catfish into the only other tank i have which is being occupied with guppy fry. Half of the original amount of fry i rescued where infected with Flexibacter columnaris and died but i havent had any deaths for about a month. Will my injured cory contract columnaris if i put him in the fry tank?. i read that it is always in tank water and will attack when the fish is stressed so is it better to put the corys in the fry tank or keep them with the angry betta?.

The betta used to be ok so but now hes a grump.

anyway thanks for any advice!,
