Did you not see our replys to your first post about this? http://www.aquariumadvice.com/viewtopic.php?t=1828 Yes they are private. The ONLY time we would go looking thru PM's is if a member reported harrassing or inapproprate Pm's being sent to them.

Lets just say that the only way a person would be banned from here for PMing other members is if the content of those PM's where in direct violation of the sites rules and regulations.
You can find a link to these on the front page of the site and they are linked in the registration form. These rules and regulations are very clear on what is not acceptable so there should be little confusion if something is in violation or not.

To expand just a little on what Aaron said, it would also have to be complained about. I am in no way advocating anyone violate the rules in a pm, but if it is not brought to our attention by the receiver...we aren't looking through the database to find it. The question was asked..Are PMs really private, I can say that yes they are! With that...this thread is closed.
