Unhappy posting pictures?

ok so i try to post pictures and every time it tells me that they are either too big (when its a regular sized pic of my digital camera) or it just doesnt work. any ideas as to how i can make my pictures smaller i guess? or am i doing something wrong?

which version of windows are you running? xp has a nice little program that resizes pics with a right click.

then i upload them to photobucket.com and paste the code they give me into a message

i always have to resize mine through iPhoto... but just posting to photobucket seems to be the easiest

I use tinypic, no bandwidth errors. and has a multi resizer for different applications.
