46 gal stocking with peacocks

i currently have a 46 gal bowfront with 6 peacocks in it. a trio of red and a trio of yellow peacocks. (sub-adults)

would you say that is just right for this tank or could i add more? thanks

ps. it is lightly planted and running a pequin 350.

Interbreeding is a definite possibility when they mature, 1 group of peacocks (say the red) with some yellow lab's would be a better mix.

i am not worried about inter breeding. the fish i am going to feed the fry to don't really care what color the fish are.

i wanted an opinion on my stocking not my breeding. Thanks.

"when they mature" lol. i just stripped a yellow peacock of fry earlier this week. mated with a red btw.

I'd say you're too close to maximum capacity to be adding to the bio-load.

i figured as much, but it just doesn't look filled with only 6 fish in there.

it'd be great if you could correctly id the peacocks. but, the average peacocks don't get larger than 5" in the aquarium. so, another trio would easily fit in the tank. or you could go with a group of yellow labs. four of them should be sufficient to make your tank look full enough.
