African cichlid species?

A pain when lfs doesn't know what their talking about. I don't know about others, but I have kept my one Hap (venustus) with my mbuna tank very happily she is second in command in my tank next to male Kenya. And yes yours looks like a livingstoni.

Are these guys carnivorous ?

The Livingstoni is most definately carnivorous but the tropheus is an algae eater.

A venustus is also a predator but you don't have one of those so I wouldn't worry.

I'm thinking about just putting him in my other tank and adding a venustus and more like him for a African predator tank.....it's a 120g....but I would want more of these type just different species
