Are jack dempsey cichlids aggressive?

I think it has something to do with their moods. I had 3 JD when i started out and two were lighter as opposed to one who was really dark most of the time. My fish guys told me its normal. As long as they are active and eating , i wouldnt worry.

That's because the darker one was more dominant then the other two

Sorry he was like a bass he would sit really still then dart for his food super fast!

I had three when i first started with my 55. Gave two back in exchange for a red devil and a salvini. I kept the more darker one. Her colors just always seemed more vivid. She is about 4" now.
