Are some angelfish types hardier than others?

I've decided my tank is going to have angels as a center piece fish when it's done cycling, but I'm curious about something. I've heard that solid black angels will die if you breath wrong. Are some angelfish strains tougher than others?

Captive bred ones are hardier than wilds/altums but other than that most angels should be relatively hardy. I haven't heard anything about one strain being weaker than others but maybe there is some truth to it.

Definitely depends on the breeder's methods. Weakened strains of any type will not thrive. If the breeder is minding the gene pool, things will be fine.

The only strain that I have found to be a bit weaker are the albinos (especially the smaller fry). If i have found anything with the DD BLacks....I have found them to be a bit more aggressive at times. Good luck
