Baby convict cichlids

So today I went to my lfs and got 2 male baby cichlids...... They didn't have females so I can't breed....... They are both about 3/4 of an inch....... When they are about 4 or 5 inches I'm going to get a 55 gallon tank for them

The males will both want to be dominant. They'll kill eachother when they become sexually mature. I had to rehome my extra male because they were fighting so much. They're just babies now. That's why they're fine.

No doubt it will work for now but when they are around 4in or so it'll be interesting. Like if you had one female and two males that would be a blood bath. Maybe in a 55 there is enough space.. Idk.

What If in the 55g I put in a divider and put a female on each Side with the male

That would work. As long as you had no other fish around the pairs. And as I've just learned (*sigh*) the males like to breed more often than the females so there is a risk of them getting beaten up. So make sure that there are lots of hiding places.

Petco will take it back i think n tell them that u didn't want to male n cnt have to male together
