My tank has been set up for about 4 months and thus far I have had no signs of successful breeding, never have even had a female holding as far as I can see. I have seen a few of my fish get jiggy but it has been very rare and ultimately uneventful. What temps do you guys find best for breeding and what factors contribute to or prevent breeding?

The type of fish would be helpful in getting an answer. That said, I keep all my tanks at 78 and have had apistos and mbuna breed. Discus would, of course, need a higher temp than that.

What kind of cichlid ? They like it to their "natural environment " Just look up the ratio too for female and males. I keep mine at 78-82 right now 82.

I have peacocks, 2 yellow labs, 3 acai, 1 rusty, 2 dolphins.
Mainly interested in the acai and peacocks breeding.

Keeping mbuna and peacocks together certainly won't encourage the peacocks to spawn, they're likely stressed by the more active fish. How big is the tank, and how is it set up?
