Mine fluctuates between 80-82 degrees because of the texas heat but usually at 80 most of the time.

I've learned cichlids are very hardy and can stand a wide range of paramaters with warmer water there metabolism will be faster which means they will want to eat more and a hungry cichlid is a more aggressive cichlid with the cooler temp there metabolisim will slow down some. But on the plus side with the warmer water less chance of ich and with cooler water calmer fish so less fin nipping. This is from my own experiance and every ones tanks are different so. Hope this helps.
