Blue Dyed Rams?
Was in a [acronym:a7be6b8bb2="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:a7be6b8bb2] today, and they had blue rams in one of their tanks. And I mean BLUE, not like the germans I'm used to which are yellowish near the front and go to blue about 1/4 towards the back, and while there were small, it was tough to determine if they were germans or bolivians. These guys were blue all over and I suspect they may be dyed. Before I go and b*tch about it, do rams come in an all blue color morph? I can't seem to find any pics that match.

I know...rams are pretty sensitive; I wouldn't expect em to survive it too well. But there are about 7 in the tank, and they aren't any more expensive then the regular ones. Is why I want to be sure before I open up a can of whoop a$$ *grin* I mean, maybe there is a new ram color morph and I just don't know about it. There are gold rams, which are yellow color morphs of the germans...maybe these are new ones?

I have heard of various dyed Cichlids, but none were Rams. Hopefully the fish market does not keep going in this direction if the Rams are dyed

My [acronym:ca220b9cf1="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:ca220b9cf1] has little blue cichlids (like crayola blue) and little yellow ones with some rams couple weeks back.. They are like a mixed bag of youg fish 1-2 inches. Very cute.
He doesn't carry any painted fish that I recognize, so I doubt these are. Least not to his knowledge. I didn't think it would be cost effective to color in fish that retail over a couple bucks.

Lately there have been a number of cichlids that have been dyed. The ones that immediately come to mind are the 'Jellybean Blood Parrots" and the "Blueberry Oscars". Wouldn't surprise me at all if some half-witted, money-grubbing slimeball decided that Rams aren't colorful enough and dyed them too!!
