I originally introduced this Flowerhorn to the forum in the photography category under the title "My five dollar Flowerhorn". I believe the Cichlid Discussion Forum to be more appropriate.
I've positively identified my Flowerhorn to be a "Blue Magma" Flowerhorn. Odd name? Regarding the Magma varieties, the Red Magma is apparently the high dollar fish. The Blues are most likely failed Reds, much like the unfaded "blue" Red Texas Cichlid hybrid. At this point I believe the FH might be female due to the rounded dorsal fin, steady but not accelerated growth rate and a relatively mild aggression level. The FH currently is getting along fine with an adult Red Texas, several Firemouths and large Tetras. This is my first go around with FH' s any advice towards keeping it would be great.
