Hey,
I have a blue Texas cichlid that I rescued as it was left in a tub by its previous owner. I'm not sure if it's a boy or girl or how old it is, I was wondering if there was any way you could distinguish? Also are there any fish I can pair with it as I have a decent sized tank.

How big is the tank. Just did a Google search and it seems they get pretty big and need atleast a 50g tank. Mature males get a hump on the head. They also have a different black spot pattern than females.

Thanks for the reply, It's a 50g tank and I think my fish looks like a female from what you're describing but I don't think she's mature yet.
