I was thinking about breeding my African Cichlids in the future, but I have no idea on how to sex them to make sure I have at least one male and one female. Any pointers, or do I need to just play trial and error?

Question is too general; some species are easy to sex, some aren't. Pics would help, so would the species of the cichlids in question.

I have a few different species but only know a couple of their names ... I have a bumble bee cichlid and yellow lab. I'll put up some pics of the other ones tomorrow. They are still fairly young I believe, they are pretty small.

Not sure if they were mouth broading or not ... I'd say they roughly span from 1.5-2.5 inches

u will have a few months at leats to wait before worrying. by then, males would have coloured more and/or become more dominant and aggressive, so they should decipher themselves.
pics will be great however ;)
