Hi all. My tank is now 7 weeks old and I've just started to get this horrid brown algae growing on everything. How can I get rid? Its bloody horrible.

Don't know how to post pics.

Cheers Kyle

Diatoms, scrape it off or wait it out, outbreaks usually go away once their nutrient (I wanna say silicates but can't remember off the top of my head) are depleted

It's driving me mad. Looks horrible. Guess I've just got to sit it out.

Cheers guys

Bristlenose plecos like diatoms, but I don't recommend adding a fish simply to do a job in your tank
