Can Cardinal Tetra work with cichlids

Hello,

My question is already laid out in the topic. I'm problem going to do a Malawi tank, but what are some other fish that will work with Cichlids. I'm reading alot of information right now and I want to get some backup on what I've read.

P.S. I just like how the swim a school and I've seen some people with them.
Thank you!,
Charles

No kind of community fish will work with a Malawi setup. The cichlids are just too aggressive and will kill off the cardinals within a day.

Cardinals can work with cichlids like angelfish, discus, rams, etc. but not the Malawi cichids that you currently have in mind. What goes best with Malawi cichlids are Malawi cichlids, possibly a pleco or two.

I wouldn't recommend it. Your tetras will wind up as a meal for those cichlid's most likely.
