Can I add German Blue Rams to me 20G?

I have a 20L (densely!) planted tank, with the following inmates:

2 Panda Cories
8 Glo Lites
2 Cherry Barbs (will soon be moving these out)
1 Female Betta
4 Otos

Can I add a GBR pair to this tank? Any other apisto that you might recommend ?

Thanks a lot for your feedback

Welcome to AA!

I would remove the betta as well. The less aggressive the tank, the better.

as long as they have a place to call there own u should be fine. i would also recomend u take out he betta. and make sure u get a male and a female. if u dont there will be a huge issue between the 2 males about territory. look for the pink belly and u should be good. oh and welcome to AA!!!

The pink belly only works with mature rams, try looking at the front two spines of their dorsal fin. Males have very pointy ones.

At least, thats what I read. I have yet to see a ram with a pink belly.

My female is very young, and she's got a very bright pink belly. It does not come with maturity. My GBR, when I got her, was only a half inch in size. Brightest pink belly I've ever seen. Not all females have pink bellies though, but if you see one with a pink belly, you know it's a female.

I personally would try it with the betta. If it didn't work out, I'd probably have a tank waiting for her just in case. MTS is great lol.
