Can't find one mbuna anywhere

I can't find one of my mbunas. I have looked everywhere in the tank. There's no way it could get into the filter and aquarium has a lid so jumping out is impossible as well. There's almost no aggression in the tank either. I have looked around the rocks and dug with my hand through the gravel and nothing.
Is it possible the other fish simply ate it for whatever reason? And it was one of the nicest fish in the tank...
 
yes it is possible. They will eat the dead fish so it doesn't pollute the water. Also do you have any catfish in the tank? I have found a skeleton of a fish in my tank before
 
I still didn't find it, it just gone... o_O

I don't have a catfish in this tank.
 
Or check the floor around your tank make sure he/she didn't jump out

I found the fish! And it's alive and well.
I was cleaning the tank today and found the fish inside the internal filter.
I have no idea how he could have gotten inside. Maybe he jumped in when I was cleaning it last week, I don't know.
