I wanna make the tank look like a river you would find a Firemouth in. Sand substrate with rocks and drift wood. But what kind of rocks? Just round river rocks? Can't find anywhere that can give me an answer. Thanks guys

Generally the cheapest and best resource is a local landscape supply, they will sell rocks for cents for the pound not dollars per pound like a LFS. The second best part is the selection of different stones available, mine has over 75 different rocks from smooth river to slate. The company near me sells Texas Holey rock for .25lbs not the normal $4-5lbs like th petshop.

I agree, Lowes is amazing for aquarium supplies,
So just round river rocks are what you would typically find down there? I have a massive bag of "Mexican beach rock" which are just palm sized grayish stones.
