Chiclid Stocking question

I have a 55g I am wanting to setup for chiclid tank. What I would like to do is have a hand full of Bolivan Rams and one jack dempsey.....I have been trying to research to see if anyone has tried this combo and if it is a bad idea....If anyone has any info please share

Well JDs get 8- 10 inches long. Bolivians get 3 inches long. JDs are aggresive. Bolivians are peaceful for the most part. What do you think? Doesn't sound like a great idea to me.

Putting aggressive fish with peaceful fish is not a good idea. It's best to stay with either aggressive/semi-aggressive fish or peaceful fish.

Bad idea.

Go with either or. I would lean more towards the bolivians too, A standard 55gal does not have a large footprint, IMO a JD would need more width than length.

thats just my opinion, its not to say a JD could live a long and happy life in a 55gal, its more to say it should be in a bigger tank, but whatever.

Most people would agree. JD's getting up to 10" long and a 55 gallon only being 12.5" wide - not much room to move around for the JD.

Bolivians are cool fish and would do much better in a 55 gal than a JD.

A female JD would work in a 55 IMO. However, GBRs may not make it when the JD gets hungry!
