I have a yellow lab cichlid that is holding at the moment. I went out and bought a 10 inch breeder box that hangs on the outside of the aquarium but still cycles the tank water through. I wanted to separate her from the rest of my cichlids so that when the eggs hatch they have the best opportunity to survive. I only noticed her holding about 5 days ago. Can she stay in there until they hatch or is this too small of a place for her to be in that long.

From my own experience she will be fine in the box now. Usually they get picked on when holding in the main tank, so separating her now will not get her so stressed out.

Thanks. What about feeding. Can she even eat with all those eggs in her mouth?
