Wow, that's quite a mix of cichlids. I am not familar with some of them. If you could provide scientific names, that would be helpful. That a look at this site http://www.mongabay.com/fish/cichlids.htm# .

Just out of curiousity, were you only planning on getting one of each of these? Even if that's the case, that would, eventually (if not initially), lead to a pretty crowded tank... On the other hand, if you're just considering a mix-and-match of a few of those species listed, cool Like Manag, I'm not familiar with all of those, so I can't offer much else.

I would just stick to some of the species you mentioned, not all of them.
You could keep a couple of rams, a couple of keyholes (great choice [acronym:164fdfd98a="By the way"]btw[/acronym:164fdfd98a] ), and then offcourse some beautifull angels. That's what my choice would be together with some shoaling fish and a plec or 2.

Go to this site for profiles of all the mentioned cichlids.

http://www.Americancichlids.com

I planned to mix and match a few not all of them it would be way too crowded.

Sounds like you have done your homework. Now, you need to choose the ones you like best.

I'm moving my keyholes from my 20 to the 30 [acronym:da7bba99c4="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:da7bba99c4] soon, when that tank is ready. Then i'm going to buy some german blue rams for my 20gal..........i'll be a SA cichlid expert soon.....

Keyholes are peacefull fishies. They should do fine with some other peacefull and even lightly aggresive cichlids, if these aren't any bigger then them. They can defend themselves if necessairy, mostly if they're in pairs and mating.
They'll probably won't be compatible with firemouths. I wasn't sure if you were planning on mixing these as well because you put the firemouths in a seperate list. But i wouldn't do that if i were you. I saw a mixed tank of firemouths and keyholes at my bad [acronym:da7bba99c4="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:da7bba99c4].....who probably didn't know that they aren't compatible. Anyway, all of the keyholes there had torn fins and looked very bad.......the firemouths looked fine....
I'm not buying fish from that place, just equipment.

And plz, do get some beautifull angels...i would keep them if i had a big enough tank for them. Anyone think i could keep 1 angel in a 30 [acronym:da7bba99c4="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:da7bba99c4] with a breeding pair of keyholes and some danios?

Hope you make good choices! I always love to plan on new tanks.....better then studying for school, which is not good

Of the species you listed I would suggest getting the Angelfish, Festivum and Rams. These species should get along well together. As mentioned above you could also add some other fish like one of the larger Tetra species (Angelfish think small Neon Tetras taste great and are less filling) and perhaps an Ancistrus or some Otocinclus if you have live plants.

So an Oscar would do ok, And it would be better to get the smaller species first, let them get to full size and then a get a few larger speicies.
