Cichlid Identification

Fellow aquarium enthusiasts - I'm super excited about my first two African Cichlids, but I was wondering if you could help me identify what kind I have. The local pet store just labled them as "Assorted African Cichlids." Any guesses?

Congratulations on your new fish... Pictures would be helpful. At least some description like color our something.

Assorted tank could either be a hybrid or just a species they don't normally carry.

Looks like a red zebra and a johanni or maingano, not sure.

I don't keep johanni, but I believe they are dimorphic? Could be male and female johanni?

They are dimorphic, but those are clearly two different species. You rarely find female johanni or maingano unless you go through a breeder.
