cichlid is eating everyone

Hi all, I'm new to all this. I have a 100gal fw hex tank and have a african cichlid that has eaten my eel, my puffer just died, ate an angel, but leaves my frutosa alone. What is compatiable with my darn cichlid?? HELP [acronym:812eca92db="Thanks in Advance"]TIA[/acronym:812eca92db]

Cichlids should really only go in with cichlids if you don't want anyone to die, and even then there is a risk. My African cichlids cohabitate with two synodontis catfish, one Australian rainbow fish (the rest were killed) and one very tough plecostomus. I have seen people put loaches in but I have never tried it. South American and African cichlids should not be mixed either.

Go to these two places, and see if you can pick out your fish:

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/s...&TopCatId=1825

and

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/s...&TopCatId=1824

I'm pretty sure it's a zebra, in which case you have a very violent fish on your hands. Like poppab said, only very tough fish, like other african cichlids or syno catfish, should be added. With a little research a 100 [acronym:f045afc348="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:f045afc348] can make a very impressive cichlid tank.

Hi,

With cichlids, only cichlids are suitable ... if you let another
species with your cichlids, you're sure that he'll die

I'm sorry for all the losses, pennybabe01. Is there any other fish in the tank (besides the frutosa)?
