Ok, so I got some splotchy cichlids, and the cichlids I have had in the tank are shimmering for them. My bumblebee follows the yellow with black splotches one, not chase it, just follows it and shimmers in front of it. Then my blue acei does the same for the light blue one with splotches. They never nip or attack. So I don't think it's territorial. But I think it MIght be breeding? If so, what other signs should I be looking for? Like making a home under a rock or something.

Your right they are going threw the mating rituals. What you'll want to watch for is one of them not eating, gills popped out and being more aggressive and hiding more would be signs of one holding.
