i would be worried about a rock falling and breaking the tank glass

Knock on wood in all the years I've been doing fish I've never had a problem.... Just nned to be careful when stacking and make sure they are sturdy....

I have had a few collapses and, as scary as it is, no broken glass. Obviously you'd want to avoid rocks hitting your glass...once placed, you shouldn't have any problems as long as the bottom layer is touching the aquarium glass bottom and not just sitting on sand.
