Glad you thought to ask.
They need room to swim, and air and possibly heater, a filter. A bowl will not provide enough water to keep the water parameters stable or at a safe level.
A snail perhaps, frequent water changes - or shrimp with much research and understanding of what and how to care for it, as well as a period of maturing the contents to grow biofilm.
