Cichlids for 20 gallon tank

Hello everyone,

I decided to upgrade my 15 gallon to a 20 gallon tank (Not much...but the bottom footprint is bigger!)

The dimensions are 60cm L x 35cm W x 40cm H (24" L x 14" W x 16" H)
I currently have a group of Corydoras sterbai, a lone Ancistrus sp, 4 silver halfbeaks (Dermogenys sp.) as well as a few leftover guppies.

I was wonder if I could add a pair or a young group (For pairing off) from one of the cichlids:

Nannacara anomala
Mikrogeophagus altispinosa
Crenicichla regani (In this case the halfbeaks will be removed, the guppies...not sure)

Also as dithers whether a group (6~8) of one out of the following could work out:
Diamond tetras (Moenkhausia pittieri)
Pencilfish (Nannostomus beckfordi or eques)
Glassfish (Parambassis siamensis, not ranga)

Thank you in advance!

The Golden Dwarf Cichlid is probably your best bet.

A 20 gallon is a bit small for the Bolivian Ram, and
the Crenicichla may be territorial, and in a smaller tank
might be an issue. Give them lots of hiding places if you
decide to get them, and switch up the tank ornaments
before you put them in. That'll cut back on aggression.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I will stick with the safest bet, Nannacara anomala.

I guess they are safe with cories and all of the listed dithers are a safe bet?

They are the least aggressive on the list you're interested in. I can't guarantee any
fish won't interact badly with another. The Nannacara anomala will do better
in the smaller environment, and does better in a community tank, which is
basically what you're introducing them into. As with ANY new introduction
to your tank, watch them closely at first. I think you'll be OK.
