Cichlids help!

Hi, I'm new to a cichlids tank, I have about 6-7 smaller cichlids that get to be about 5 inches big. They are Africans, would any of the south Americans that stay relatively small work with them since I have a bunch of them?

It's best to stick with one lake and build your tank from that. Mbuna ( and lake Malawi) have different dietary and water needs than say your s. Africans. Also, there are aggression issues...
