Ciclid being attacked

OK, so here is the setup:
55 Gallon Tank
1 Red parrot Cichlid
1 Blue Gourami
9 Neon Tetra
1 Beta
3 Snails
2 Molly.

Everyone seems happy and healthy EXCEPT the Gourami always attacks the cichlid. Shows no interest in another fish but every moment the cichlid comes out of hiding the gourami darts right over and nips at him and chases him back into hiding.

Any thoughts?

Is the gourami bigger than the cichlid?ive had Tropicals before I changed to African cichlids and I love gouramis,I would never add them to my tank though.some gouramis are really placid but I had a couple of really aggressive gouramis but the tables might turn if your cichlid is small and it gets bigger than your gourami.just keep an eye on them but if it gets out of control you might have to rethink about the types of fish you are keeping together
