Convicts+mollies=?

hi I have 3 mollies and my sisters bf is getting rid of three convict cichlids which are all females. He wants to give them to me...but word on the street is that convicts are pretty hardcore fighters. Am I wrong in thinking that they'd eat my mollies? What should I do? thanks.

How large is your tank? How large are the convicts? Individual convicts are not as vicious as they would be were they a mated pair, but I still would not do it if I were you. Not unless you had a very large tank. Once they get larger (around 5 inches or so) I would surely expect the mollies to be picked on.

Just my opinon.

Agreed. I keep a 3 inch female convict in a 55 gallon, and she holds her own with a 6-7 inch severum and a 6 inch firemouth. Even the females are tough as nails and I really think they would pick on the mollies even in a large tank.

For a 10 gallon, I'm afraid you're more than maxed out. I personally wouldn't add any more mollies.
