I just bought some very young double reds and was wondering approximately how long until I will see their colors and if there's something I can do to speed up their maturity rate
we have no idea without a picture, growth rates can vary. speeding up maturity can be done minutely with a larger tank, increased food quantity/quality and higher temperatures. but this will increase bioload and eventually lower mortality as they age faster.
win/lose situation imo.
what tank, temp and food are they given?
Are these cacs? I've got 1/2" fry already showing colors. Good food (NLS grow/thera+a... frozen bloodworms... that's what I feed), clean water, and lots of cover should have them showing their colors nicely.
