death after birth

my snow white cichlid females have guive birth twice and both times the adult female dies after spiting them out any ideas why

Are they much younger than the male. He could be forcing them into breeding but they just aren't physically ready to fast. Have you been separating them while holding?

this was both of there first batch. yes i seperate them as soon as i see that they are not eating
