Red Zebra Cichlid (Metriaclima estherae) I'm fairly sure it is
She was fully yellow

Sorry I lost my iPod If it is a female it might be trying to breed do you have any males in the tank

If it is a male it might be getting bullied by something els in the tank casing it to lose color to hide as a female I never had that type of fish but I have had kenyis before and they are closely related just watch him to see if he is getting picked on or attacked

I've never seen her get picked on but it could be at night if she is I know the mofo doing it my Duboisi Cichlid (Tropheus duboisii) is a prick to my GT and b/n only bad thing he is too small for my bigger tank with my red devil but to agessive for my community tank ... Might have to find a new home for him

Try talking to you LFS they will no more than me but as long as he is eating it should be fine
