I would assume cichlid pellets of some sort. I've never kept one myself.

Do they develop the extended forehead as they mature?

My green terror doesn't have that, but then again he's a juvenile.

As for food, mine eats cichlid pellets, sinking cichlid pellets, flakes, baby krill, anything that sinks slowly enough for him to grab before it hits the gravel.

At what size do they usually get the hump? anyone know? mine doesnt have one yet...im actually having problems feeding it myself these days.

If they are in a tank with females, and they are either:

1) The only male in there.

2) The male who is dominant if there is more than one.

Then, they can start growing a hump at around three inches, give or take. But that male in the photo above is pretty mature. They will grow a hump without a female around, but usually they don't get as large...

NLS earthworms. Will eat practicaly anything. Nice photo.
