Eheim 2080 filter - outflow hose

Does anyone know if it's alright instead of installing the outflow hose from left to right (across tank),if it will cause any harm to point it downwards instead ?

Should be fine won't change the difference in back pressure

Can't believe the out take flow has a extremely slow leak of a drop of water on the outflow hose. I will try either plumbing tape on the thread or silicone cementing it. Pissed
