Those feeder blocks are crap.. I've never heard a single positive review (never searched one out)

Basically all I've read is that people come home to cloudy tank and a couple dead fish.

I tried one. It was still completely whole after four days. Not even softened edges. I think your pH has to be exactly right, and mine was too high.

I didn't try myself but I saw one at pet store. I believe if there is no other solution then why not try atleast.
