Fire Mouth advice

I want a pair of fire mouths. Would a 30 G work for just a pair with a few top level dithers? Tank size 36"x12"x16". with a fluval 306. I have read everything from 30g to 120g for tank size. Thanks.

Dithers probably wouldn't in my opinion because if the fire mouths pair off the get more aggressive and 30g is a small space so will take a lot of it as territory so they will probably kill the dithers

That 30 gallon will do great for a pair of firemouths but I agree no dithers the pair will claim the 3 foot space all for themselves.
