I've asked the ID of this fish a few times mixed in with other more important tank things and have never really gotten an answer. Before I get new fish I'd like to know what it is.

The first pic is it in the old tank the next 2 are it in the new tank. I have no idea why the huge color shift but they are the same fish and it's about 6 inches long. Thanks.

Maybe. Any idea on why the color shift?

No demasoni. Is it yellow at all? Looks like a pseudotropheus crabro somewhat to me.

It has yellow false egg spots? (Not sure if that's what they're called) otherwise no yellow. Top fin did have sort of an iridescent blue before it went crazy and turned black.

Looks a lot like a black phase crabro to me as well, was hanging back to see if anyone else suggested that as Malawian aren't my forte

I'd say crabro/bumblebee
Myn change from pale to yellow a lot and dark to light black markings

I'm 90% sure its a crabro I've kept them in the past and had the hugh colour shift as well.
