Fish ID challenge

Although I know what this fish is, I thought it'd be fun to post to see if anyone else can figure it out.

Hmmm guessing its not in cyanotilapia then, is is a weird one, plus it looks like its still young

Alright, I"ll stop being cruel ... its actually a hybrid. Can you guess which 2 Malawi cichlids combined resulted in this?

Oh, we'll that's no fun...I don't do hybrids so I couldn't tell you what it is then

Looks like a Labidochromis Hongi mixed with an Aulonocara Usisya? Or maybe a Blue Neon? Am I close? haha

The parents were both cichlids.

You got Labidochromis correct, but its not Hongi. For the second species try a species with vertical banding.

We have a winner .... Yellow lab + Demasoni ... stupid mutt fish ... but I thought this one was pretty.

I didn't think they would breed ... guess my demasoni was lonely.

Yea that's a pretty random mix but you never know what can happen. My socolofi and maingano bred but the fry are still small. I'm curious what they'll look like.
