From what I can tell both above fish mentioned are similar as to size an requirements ???

An no I never thought it was a lab I have 3 of them an they even for me would be hard to confuse

Very similar though the Livingstonii has a very special hunting technique.You should google it

No, it's a Nimbochromis venustus. Way too much bright yellow on the body and the unpaired fins, the spots are too evenly spaced, and there are none of the markings in the caudal or dorsal fins typical to juvenile/young livingstonii. The spots in livingstonii are more irregular and more often connected than not, and the rostrum on a venustus is not typically blunter nor pointier than a livingstonii.
