Gille

I have to disagree sorry. I have 3 of these fish in my tank. They have a black spot in the middle of there body which is very faint but is more defined when the lights are first put on in the mornings.

Def as above. IMO ;-)

All juvenile Geos look the same I have kept and bred just about every species available to me in the last 20 years and the juvies from all of them looked identical, I can perhaps narrow it down to a species of the surinamensis group, past that it is too small to properly ID.

Here's what I mean
Sp. Tapajos

surinamensis

And finally Satanoperca Leucosticta

All will have stripes or spots depending on mood or stress level but the fish in question does not have the head shape of a Satanoperca species.

Yes it's still too early I agree, there are so many fish that look so similar it's unreal! I'm only guessing really!

Hi anyone know how long it takes for the eggs to hatch? I think they have laid eggs all along the bottom of the glass on the front of the tank.

This fish is now moving all the gravel around one of the pieces of driftwood and making a wall do its got a cave !!

He's 3" to 4" now and when I turned lights on this morning it's moved all the gravel back!

At that size if it were a Tapajos you would see some color in the head since it would be getting close to full size, but with the color pattern I would be comfortable saying that it is a surinamensis.

There no distinct colour to his head he's just got a blue tint throughout his body! Interesting fish imo
