I had been feeding my mbunas cichlid flakes until recently I ran out. I bought a big one pound bag of some cichlid pellets made by aqueaon and my cichlids that are 3 inches and over eat them no problem but some of the smaller ones can't for them into their mouths. I just spent 14 dollars and don't really want to buy more food. Should I just break them? Or would soaking them in water before putting them in the tank make it easier for them to eat it?

If it gets to a point were they really new to eat I would
1. Get frozen peas and microwave them and take the pea out of the shell, all fish will like this.
2.buy a small bottle of API Baggie flakes. They relatively cheap and a good source for your fish. I feed mine peas and omega on super color cichlid pellets.
3. Try other fresh veggies. Just clean and blanch first to get it chewable to the fish. Anything green will be a good choice, just take out the seeds.

Break it up into smaller pieces.
