I have a Jack who is about 5 inches. I'm building a 40gal home for Jack where Jack and a plecostomus will reside. Is 40gal enough?

If we can all determine my Jack's sex could I put an opposite gender in with him/her or is 40gal too small? I know they get big so if 40 is too small it'll probably be a quiet home for Jack and pleco.

Thank you!

Sorry about pic quality, he/she is VERY camera shy and I had to bribe him/her to get what I got! lol

Sorry I think the 40 is too small for the JD, as they get pretty big. However if the JD is still real small u could use it as a grow out tank for a little while IMO .

Once it's too big for that tank I was planning on finding a friend or other to adopt it. I do know that they get very large so I will probably just have Jack in a tank alone.

Do you know the gender?

Oh! Thanks! Sorry about that!

Let's try again...
