My Sysnpillium has been in my tank for a month and has been getting black! Why would my fish get black?

Do you feed a lot of shrimp? I have no experience with them but recall reading that if you feed too much shrimp it will bring out their black pigmentation.
If this sounds like it could be what's happening , reduce the shrimp and increase veggie pellets etc.

Its like a rash its because of hi ammonium levels you need to do some water changes at least once a week half and half..
