Hi guys. I have come home and fed my fish today. My young jack Dempsey has come out of his hiding spot and started to shake his very violently so much so that I could hear it.

Is this normal? I checked him out and can't see what is wrong. It's almost the same way a dog shakes there heads. Scared the other fish too.

Checked water and all is ok.

Any ideas.

Would he do that if he is the only JD in the tank. As for trying to attract a mate the other fish twice his size were scared by it lol.

My dominate severum does this as im feeding to tell the others its all his.

My JD is in with a big Oscar. Since changing the tank decor about my JD has found the smallest place to hide. He is only about 4 inches. My Oscar who is massive if not fully grown will not mess with the JD. I have also never seen the JD eat. I assume he dose as he is putting on weight.

I thought he might of had a smack on the head and was fitting. Scared the life out of me. Sent the Oscar darting to the other side of the tank. As long he is ok I am happy.

Thanks guys.
