Help with ocean rock

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I just bout 17kg of ocean rock for my cichlid setup from my lfs. I asked them how to prepare it for my tank and they said all I have to do is hose it down. Is this the correct way or have I been mislead.

Just throughly rinse the rock and if your really concerned give them a bath in a light bleach solution won't hurt anything either.
