I'm looking to have a chilid tank can anyone tell me how to setup the tank etc.......

30 gallons. Substrate is gravel. Semi aggressive or aggressive whatever you think

Or if your into upgrading the tank in a year or so you could always get some larger SA or CA cichlids. Other wise I would also suggest the "dwarf cichlids"

Ok thanks for the advice how should the tank be set up plant rocks were to put them

Most fish are flexible with what you choose I put in the tank it's totally up I you and your price range some people fail to have live plants in with cichlids and some do just fine, you can stack pieces of slate or simply buy some ornaments if you take some time and research the fish you want I can help out a bit more, I would also suggest poking around the forum and scoping other people cichlid tanks

Does this look ok

Yes I would defiantly say that's a nice set up, you could make the "caves" a little smaller for the baby cichlids and then open it up like that when they or big or simply leave it like that, most important is that your happy, as long as water paras are good and you have good filtration you should have nothing to worry about feel free to ask anything else

You could do a Firemouth pair that would look fantastic. Or a jewel cichlid pair. Or you could do smaller cichlids like apistos or rams like 4-6 rams or 4-6 apistos.

Or if you want really aggressive fish that breed crazy amounts you could get a convict pair.

Ok thanks if anyone has any other fish to recommend just say so. It's a 30 gallon tank.
