I was wondering how much filtration is too much. I have a 40g and my filters are doing 490 gallons a hour.... One of those filters are new and the other is being used to seed bb. I I was wondering if I should take out the old filter or just leave it in....

Thanks

It's only too much when it hurts your fish. The more, the better. If it's not hurting them, don't worry about it (By hurting I mean not letting them swim, sucking them up etc etc.

No suck thing as to much filtration. Just to much flow/current.

100% correct I use a canister with a 30 gallon sump for added water volume on my 75 it pushes 530 gph but the stock spray jet was too much current the fish had to swim to much it will tore them out and stress them so I made a spray bar to spread out and dampen the pressure and everyone is super happy :)
